We threw you a little birthday bash and it was a screaming success.  We all had a great time, you got some killer loot, and we had lots of wonderful guests.

Your First Vacation

We just got back from your first vacation ever! We went to Cabo San Lucas!

This was your first plane ride.  You were a little angel (thanks to the crackers!). I bought a "sit and stroll" at the last minute and it was an amazing last minute idea.  We got lucky and had an empty seat in our row, so you got your own seat on the way there.  On the way back you were on our laps.  That wasn't quite as pleasant...

. 

This was your first time at the beach.  You weren't really into it.  You cried when we tried to get you deeper into the water but you were insanely adorable.  You were also kind of yucked out by the sand.  You loved playing with your shovel, running around and snuggling under the umbrellas.

 

 

 

You learned a little bit about swimming.  You learned how to "kick-kick-kick" and "swim swim" with your arms.  You were a part-time scared-y-cat and the other part of the time, you had lots of fun in the kiddie pool playing with your ball and blow up toys.

You could watch Caillou all day long if we let you. It's usually your first word of the day. We are beginning to think your obsession might actually be a giant baby crush.

Happy Valentines Day

Simone,

Today you are exactly 22 months old. It is also valentines day and I thought it appropriate to write a little love letter to the most beautiful creature I've ever laid my eyes on. Every day your Daddy and I look at each other in amazement. "Can you believe we made this little thing?" You have added a dimension to our universe that neither of us knew could exist and made us realize how empty our lives might have been without you in it. My favorite thing is to sit with your on my lap with both arms around you and my nose in your hair while you contently read a book, watch Caillou, or try to tell me something that is clearly very, very important. Wait...it's either that or when you sit between me and Daddy on the couch and take turns hugging and kissing us, or you pull us both in so you can hug us both and you won't let us go. Every day it's something new with you and it either cracks us up, melts our hearts or convinces us that you are a genius. Often all at once. Your sense of humor is wonderful. You are so sweet, so smart and I l LOVE LOVE LOVE you more and more every day. Oh and you have some SWEEEEET moves!

Poor Daddy. This is what happens when Mr. Mom is in Charge...

WAIT!! Poor me! I'm still at work and hear that one of my shoes is in there! Also, I just bought you 4 new puzzles last night and apparently most of the pieces are in there as well. Thanks Simi. I hope that was way more fun than those puzzles ever could be.

Halloween 2011

Dear Simi,

Today we went to BOO at the ZOO! Between Daddy's photography and you getting stung by a bee I think we got through about 15% of the zoo and got about 8 pieces of candy.
You were pretty distraught for a while and the only thing that seemed to make you feel better was watching the Elephants (a.k.a. "enent")and you seemed to like the bird house somewhat except for that kid with the 'scream' mask that totally freaked you out. I'm not sure which was more heart breaking for me- the bee sting or your exposure to that little stinker of a kid who clearly found pleasure in your response to his costume.
As far as the candy goes, I don't let you have candy anyway. The disappointment was solely mommy and daddy's.
You were a super duper cute Princess Leah and it seemed you were the center of attention everywhere we went.
We love our little princess.









As expected, the storm troopers made Leah very uneasy. And YES, Leah sometimes wore striped leggings with pink cowboy boots under her dress.

Usually once the camera comes out you stop and try to get the camera from us, but today we got you in action!

Simone Helps Pack

Well, it looks like the 3 of us are moving on to our next adventure!  We sold the condo and are moving out.  We are sort of in limbo right now.  We have a house with busted pipes that we are hoping to move into soon but it may take a little time and money before we can.  In the meantime, we are staying with auntie Michelle which should be pretty fun for a while...

Anyway, I don't know how we could have ever got all the packing done without Simone.  What a little life saver.
