Simone has arrived!

Simone Michelle Cervantez Tkac was delivered at 7:16am today, April 14th, 2010. Yay!

My water broke at midnight April 12th/13th at a trickle. I had an appointment with the doctor that day at 1:30 p.m. and so I decided just to wait until then rather than call her first thing in the morning. This turned out to be a mistake.
I was never sure whether or not my water was broken until my dr. confirmed it. I guess that's why I waited almost 12 hours before telling my doc and then we waited another 6 1/2 hours until they induced me at 7:00pm(ish). They gave me Petocin and I labored without pain medication for 2 hours and I only made it to 2cm. The Petocin was making the contractions unbearable and I quickly realized there was no way i was going to make it all the way up to 10cm at this rate so I asked for the epidural and it made life so much better. We just hung out comfortably napping until 4am when I was ready to push. The epidural wore off for the last couple of hours. OUCH! She was finally born at 7:16 - a perfect little package. She came out with her eyes wide open and stared right at me. I'll remember that moment for the rest of my life!
